Marie-Alice Kacou: An architecture student who comes from Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire. Apron: To denote her wish to cater to home and hospitality as she constructs (and runs her own firm). The palms I stole from the universal alphabet created by the Abidjan artist Frédéric Bruly Bouabré. It also represents Marie-Alice's wish to one day live on the coast - I'm assuming, where palms flourish. Abidjan's district logo includes palms as well.
Linked arms: To suggest her very cherished life-long friends who join her in worldly travels every two years. All were born in Cote d'Ivoire but boast quite diverse backgrounds.
Red: lots of it
Tatoo: one of Marie-Alice's doodles, also nods to her interest in decorative arts and culture of India
