driftwood paintings

Today I added to my boutique a series that has not previously shown there.  The collection was inspired by numerous trips this summer to Pine Island, Georgia. Concentrating on color, tempo and shape, I would say this grouping consists of works that are the least diverse (formally) that I've offered in a series.  Trying to capture the essence of heat, sun and dry wood takes lots of practice.   But I could never be tired of marveling at the cross-section of trees, water and land.  Plus, when you add the mystique of paint and representation, it's all riveting.

I've framed all 15 works in dark textured frames with deep profiles. They sit on their own but hang just as nicely.
