paris market design center opening (review) Last night's party at The Paris Market: super success, my opinion. While I should be talking about all the fabulous furniture, fabrics, lighting and knick-knacks, as well as some of the organizational talent (Matt Woods), oh, and the perfectly laid out everything, I won't.

However, I can't say enough about the staff....all so pleasant. All introduced themselves...thank you! And asked if we knew about some of the new offerings. We were promptly given a tour of "just a few pieces." So nice! So how it should be.

Susie Brown, a local foodie extraordinaire, put together a very French and very delicious spread of haricots verts, pâté, artisan breads, cheeses (nicely shaved and varied in cut), cornichons, over-sized radiches and fatty spreads (to my great delight).

The sweeter treats, and the people, all beautiful, but les pièces de résistance; Paula's mom's cupcakes. I can't even know, but a lemon custardish middle, black raspberry sugared? on top, just-sweet-enough-icing and something I can't quite identify. So delicious!

Isabelle Brassard noted, "I could eat twenty."

So could I. I'm glad I only took four home in my treats-to-go packages the staff thought so carefully to provide. I had planned to share with my boys, but, oh well....
